I know myself well enough to realize when it is time to take a break from the noise and evaluate…everything. If you are part of our vibrant Silhouette of Success audience, you know that my favorite questions to ask our V.I.P. Featured Guests revolve around Best Practices. In those questions I find valuable tips to implement and discover a thread of golden that weaves many of us together.
So, it was time to act on of a few of the tried and true:
First: Fresh air, get out in nature, move your body and change your surroundings to gain a fresh perspective. I dig my HOTWORX , so that’s a must! Stretch it out, sweat it out, walk it out, think it out!
Next up: Create healthy boundaries, pay attention to who I allow in my inner circle, review what I intake content, diet, bull shit, toxic people/behaviors (which can be me sometimes, I own that), activities and work to better myself as I take a good look in the mirror. Boundaries of my time, energy and treasure. Boundaries of how I will allow others to treat me, my family, friends or those I can step up and in to help. I have realized, painfully, that even family relations are in this mix and I say “no more”. Are the industries, groups and spaces that occupy my time, skills and talents still aligning with my core values? Did I allow certain aspects to alter my goals to conform with a differing vision, time to course correct. Ah, better question I must ask myself-how did I allow that to happen and be more in tune to the signals and signals to avoid that in the future. It’s a journey.
Pulling it all together: Taking time to enjoy fresh air, moving by body and environments of what and where I partake, spring cleaning everything from baseboards to closets to social media accounts, projects and presumed priorities that were weighing me down, creating friction with my soul or snowballed into a cluster of emotional or organizational calamity.
It’s been good. It’s time to get to work with a lighter step and new song in my heart!
Let’s get back on the mic …..
