Our V.I.P. Featured is the General Manager of the multiple editions of Community Impact News. She started her career in journalism in 2009, moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area inĀ 2010 and was a Marketing Communications Coordinator. She has also worked as an Account Director with world-renowned, PR Newswire where she helped PR agencies and Fortune 500 companies. She is a graduate of the Texas A&M University, a native Spanish speaker,Ā loves hot tea, Nutella, exercising, cooking for loved ones and has never met a dance floor she didnā€™t like! She is a huge community advocate, serves on the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as well as the GRACE Board of Directors and fun fact, she wonĀ Best Dancer at the 2018 Rotary Club of Colleyvilleā€™s annual fundraiser, Dancing for theĀ Stars. She is married to her college sweetheart and together they have a 4-year-old daughter.

CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS

Trust: Ana has learned that she is tougher than she thought she was after going through the downturn and uncertainty during the pandemic, with regards to survival of the treasured publication. She shares that the company is a strengths-based company, meaning everyone takes the GALLUP Clifton Strengths assessment. The team was and are able to trust and lean on each other tapping into their respective skillsets for collective success. They learned so much during the pandemic, did a bit of restructuring of the business to better prepare in the event of something in the future. Ana shares her story about the trust that the leadership team had in her ability to either turn around a specific market or allow it to dissolve. She did it, boy, did she ever… Ā with grit, hours of showing up, her smile, professionalism, promise of service, tenacity and devotion, I’ll call it “AnaStyle“!

Support System: Ana attributes some of her success with aĀ fanaticĀ support system, toĀ include her husband. SheĀ said he is incredibly wise and plays the devils advocate for her. Ana compliments her Publisher, Crystal Howard as being one of her pillars of support. Ana has a Pinterest Board of inspirational quotes, Bible verses and inspirational photos to use as a visual reference-so cool. She reflects back when asked about where the passion to serve and Ā support the community derives from, she mentions the organizations she supports areĀ reminiscent of those that helped her family adapt when they moved to the U.S..

She also talks about having a heart for small business and this also ties back to her parents who were small business owners. She has a deep respect for small businesses Ā and owners knowing the hard work, long hours and sacrifice it takes to be successful or even survive.

Time: How does that saying go? Just one small bite from the elephant! Ana shares great tips that work for her when she is trying to get through a challenging situation. She is learning to be proactive and not reactive. She talks about taking a little time to think, slowing down, taking a step back, fresh air and sometimes if it makes sense to sleep on it.
