Our V.I.P Featured Guest, April Slapa is an entrepreneur and business owner. With a degree in both business and dance, after dancing professionally, April went on to open a dance studio in her hometown where she grew up. After successfully running and expanding the business, April, and her husband Vince, knew it was time for the next step. They both sold their separate businesses and took the family to Texas. They knew what they wanted to accomplish and set out to do it. They currently have a packaging company, Western Packaging, that provides end to end solutions for flexible packaging and fulfillment. April and Vince also own and operate a real estate portfolio of investment and rental properties that they started back in 2007. April has always had a passion for business ownership and loves talking with other entrepreneurs on their goals and aspirations.
CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS
Teamwork: April shares the early shaping of her Silhouette of Success reflecting on her love of dance that carried throughout, and to this day. She talks about her parents and especially her encouraging husband. Together they own and operate their business, investments, and household. She talks about the importance of a strong partnership and how they work so well together and enjoy the balance they can make it all work so well! She attributes a lot of her business success with collaborations with her husband as spouses and partners.
Fitness: As a creature of habit, April craves structure to makes sure she has the time and energy to get everything done…and rested. They plan and prepare their family meals to assist with efficiency and spending time together. Dance was always in her mind and heart; she says at the age of five she knew she was going to be a dancer. As an athlete she enjoys trying new things…tune in for her marathon story! In addition to stay physically fit, she recently hired a coach and with this she’s receiving so much more than she anticipated more that her diet and food but mindset, emotions to motivational ideas.
Circles: April shares the truth as she speaks to lessons she has learned along her journey. She talks about how people come into our lives for a reason and that there are circles of support that tend to evolve as one grows. April shares her pride in the discovery of hew children and their growth plus the lessons they teach us! She shares one of her best practices around goals, getting things accomplished and figuring out how to jump in and take over. Did you catch her tip about notecards?

Look back at where you came from and where you are going. Appreciate the lows because those lows are going to bring you up to another high.
