Featured Guest Betsy Kauffman is a globally recognized Organizational Agility Coach with more than 20 years of experience working in Fortune 500 companies as well as the Founder, CEO, and Coach at Cross Impact. She is a speaker, and mentor in the Charlotte Women in Business Mentoring Program. In addition to a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University, she spent 20+ years working in corporate America trying to figure out how to balance motherhood, working full time, and climbing the corporate ladder in a competitive tech environment.
CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS
Roadshow: Someone told Betsy she should take her show on the road, she listened and so she did! Betsy talks to us about the depth of what goes into how she was able to take the steps to go independent. She was the breadwinner in her corporate role, motherhood and being the supportive role of her entrepreneur husband. Betsy began to realize that she wanted to have the flexibility and freedom in her schedule/life/decisions. She shares the nervousness of departing from the security of a job, a corporate salary, health benefits and all that comes with the W2. Betsy explains that there are crazy, exciting, sometimes scary days but remaining persistent in your pursuit.
Impactful: Her days have structure in that she has a routine, especially with having a son still in the home. Betsy talks about the “luxuries” of self-care but they are truly nonnegotiable once time blocked…however, clients do maintain a priority. She sets the expectations and communicates for success. Betsy is disciplined to allow her to be productive. Betsy talks about the importance of women finding a community or group that fits them, suits their needs, and supports their growth. “Passion” and “Spreadsheet”…this one you need to tune in for, seriously.
Collaborative: People, process and technology are the primary elements of her business and Betsy shares that like it or not, we do bring both our personal and professional self to work. Doing research for her new launch with brand expert Tiffany Newman, Betsy found her niche! She discovered that working with the mid-level career female leaders was calling to her. Cross Impact Collaborative was created as a collective membership that brings these women and leaders together into a year of focused training with value-based support system. Betsy built a space and offer the group training and support with their personal and professional development.
