We heard it from Michelle in her Episode No. 79…sometimes the most challenging part of working out, can be to just get in the car. Michelle and I have been in a fun accountability challenge supporting each other on a similar personal fitness goal and began texting on Wednesday evenings to check-in. It wasn’t a full-on intentional plan, but it has become something we both look forward to and rely on!
Something that I heard Tony Robbins say in one of his podcast’s years (and years) ago stayed with me as it relates to this topic. He talked about not negotiating with himself and it didn’t matter how he was “feeling”, he just did what he had set out to do. Bottom line set your goals and intentions and do it…period. No negotiations.
What is holding you back from figuratively or literally speaking of “getting in the car” to go workout? This could mean simply taking some time to stretch, adding movement to your day, a form of exercise or a full on workout…what is getting in the way?
Let’s remove any excuses together with a simple, straightforward and intentional plan to help create a success with the goal:
Plan the day/night before:
- Decide on your goal
- Block your calendar with a reminder
- Book your class or plan your route
- Set the alarm
- Lay out your workout clothes, or pack your bag and get your hydration ready
Day of:
- Wake Up…do not hit the SNOOZE button
- “Get in the car” or get focused on the goal
Afterwards:
- Celebrate your success! You did it! Now do it again!
