She has a soft, kind and reassuring manner that dazzles, excites and sets you at ease from the moment you connect. So, a tip from this novice who was extremely insecure in front of a camera sweating on my barstool while in front other professionals in the TV studio staring at the teleprompter and camera for the first time-ever. I don’t Facetime or enjoy a live ZOOM or any other visual platform that seems to beckon the inner most toxic self-critic within me. I was terrified, not of my ability but my performance in front of her, the Coach, the producer and honestly my friend that I was co-hosting with…talk about pressure! Internal pressure, pressure of not liking my image on the cameras, pressure of not wanting to let me friend down, pressure of never doing this before…the EXIT door was just 15 steps in front of me and believe me, I had my escape plan and story ready to put into action. It was only because of Elise and the producer (shoutout to Don!) professionalism that I didn’t hit the door escaping in a furry. Deep inside I wanted to crawl under the tables or fake a heart attack, but this was for a bigger purpose, I invested both time and treasure…I really did want to be here and do well. Elsie had a pre-training call, brought a binder with dividers and was so organized and then her methods were clear, encouraging and we both left feeling giddy and successful. Take a cue from Elise in how to approach your next client meeting or customer interaction, even a interaction tune into her Episode 98 for some pointers! From me to you, she is the real deal that drew my fears award and allowed me the space to stay in the session, leave with confidence and show up for the live-in studio audience TV tapings…yup, she did that!
