EPISODE 122

SILHOUETTE OF SUCCESS | SORORITY SESSION

In this Sorority Session:

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend…or are they?

Let’s review the Conversation Highlights:

Behind the Curtain | Eye Candy | Inspiration

I feel very confident in stating that most women appreciate a little bauble that sparkles and shines, whether it is a dazzling diamond, vibrant gemstone colored rhinestone or smooth, deep in color turquoise. I am certain that there is something for everyone. Marylin Monroe’s iconic rendition of “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” made famous in the movie Gentleman Prefer Blondes…comes to mind, as it is one of my personal favorites or how about Rhianna’s “Diamonds” …another fav.

Let’s explore. It’s a feeling of invincibility, fierceness, a vibe of stepping out and standing a little taller. It’s knowing that your baubles real or costume are accentuating your inner confidence crating an aura around you. Is it a single strand of classic pearls, what message are you trying to convey? Is it a statement vintage brooch, was it your grandmother’s…are you channeling a little extra courage? Or just like Oceans Eight…it is a magnificent Cartier necklace-a true showstopper. It might be some of my treasured pieces of vintage WEISS or Betsy Johnson’s statement pieces I scoop up from TJ Maxx/Marshalls or Burlington (oh yes-they have awesome finds!). I have a weakness for bling, and I am not afraid to show it. Every piece has a story, some of all yours, some are shared and nostalgic and some have yet to be discovered. Whatever the piece of choice you adorn yourself with as you create the vibe, it will be telling a story. I found it fascinating hearing Sharon in Episode 122 share with us how she embarked on the podcast portion of her Silhouettes of Success. She had a curiosity, a passion and pursued a pathway to create something magical to share with all of us! I found her reasons uplifting and exciting; that yes, it’s about the eye candy (a.k.a. jewelry) but moreover, she is pulling back the curtain for the deeper connection, the story behind their creations, thus building relationships. So, taking note of that portion of her story, it’s worthy to acknowledge the personal connections and the ability of our passions helping to foster relationships that ultimately can develop into new friends and yes, even Best Friends! Moral of this Sorority Session…find a hobby, passion and pursue it!
